Batgirl's Baby ShowerBring On the Baby Boof! January 22 Week 4: A Different Kind of Baby PoolDJ Jazzy Batbaby continues to do very well. At 4.5 lbs., he has now increased his body weight by 50% over the past three weeks, which is pretty impressive if you think about it.
Says Batgirl:
"He graduated from his isolette into a bassinet, and now his job is to keep his temp up, and look adorable. It will still be at least 2 weeks until he can come home. Next week he starts to learn that eating isn't necessarily accomplished through a tube in one's nose--the first of many surprises in store for him in life."
So, instead of your traditional baby pool, all Batlings are invited to place their bets on the date that young Dashiell will be permitted to leave the hospital, and what his weight will be when he finally gets to go home.

Update
Baby Boof is doing very well. With preemies (which, it turns out, are nothing like Cabbage Patch Kid preemies...) there are certain problems you expect and certain steps they have to take. He's been jaundiced (expected) and has spent a few days under a nice suntanning bed with some phat goggles, where he fights off the evil bilirubins like a champ. He was off that for a little while and then on a little anti-jaundice blanket that makes him look like a glowworm (the cutest little glowworm you ever did see.) He seems to be doing well, though he did have to wear a sock on his hands one day for getting handsy with the nurses. They expect him to be in the hospital for roughly a month, after which we can take him back to Massachusetts. But it all depends on him learning to eat on his own, etc., so quite a bit is up in the air. He is expected to be perfectly healthy--the only trouble was just the wee-ness. January 02 So Much for the Baby Pool...This was supposed to be where we'd hold the baby pool, but the newest member of Team Batgirl had other plans and showed up a good deal ahead of schedule.
So instead, feel free to post your well wishes here, as well as suggestions for the Tiniest Superhero's official Team Batgirl moniker. Because we can't keep calling him Baby Boof forever, and Bat-Baby has been taken already.
